Plans for a new cultural space and comedy venue at a historic Sunderland pub have been given the seal of approval. Despite the current covid imposed closure of The Dun Cow, plans have been revealed to expand the The Grade II-listed buildings cultural offer.
Improvements at Moorsholm Cricket and Athletics Club in Redcar and Cleveland have been approved by councillors. The plans were unanimously backed despite objections from nearby addresses relating to additional noise, a lack of privacy, and an increase in cars parking outside properties.
Council bosses in County Durham want to reassure parents that they will not be hit with unnecessary bills for childcare. The statement comes after a father in Leicestershire was unexpectedly charged £900 in ‘top up fees’. Regulators have urged local authorities to ensure ‘free must mean free’ in relation to government-guaranteed childcare.
