RIVERSIDE WOES: Boro lose yet again at home
It was more anguish at the Riverside as Boro fell to a 3-1 defeat against Bristol City with the Robins’ new manager watching on from the stands.
Neil Warnock’s side have now won just one of their last six home games, and with five losses in that sequence, their play-off hopes are beginning to falter.
A Famara Diedhiou brace and a superb solo goal from Nahki Wells put the game beyond Boro in the opening 45 minutes.
Dael Fry did grab a consolation late on but the damage had already been done.
The result sees Boro sit three points off the play-off places and manager Neil Warnock blamed a lack of concentration on the teams’ inconsistency and said they can have no complaints with where they find themselves:
“We conceded a goal when we've got three of our best defenders marking one striker.
"It just doesn't make sense to me how they can lose concentration and the second goal was the same again.
"We've got what we've got and we can have no complaints. How we can have a 20-minute spell like we had tonight, I haven't got all the answers.
"I thought on Saturday, our front three were really instrumental in why we won, but tonight, they didn't give us anything."
Next up for Boro is a chance to rectify their home form as they host high flying Cardiff City at the weekend.
