DOG DAYS ARE OVER: How can you prepare your dog for the easing of lockdown?

There is someone in your life who might not be so happy about lockdown easing.

It's been a very unusual time for our dogs. Many people went out and got their four legged friends during lockdown, meaning they've never spent an extended period of time away from you. When the time does come for you to head back to work, it's going to be a bit of a shock for our pooches which could lead to anxiety and some disruptive behaviour.

Around 33% of people in the North East are dog owners, and as the amount of time being spent at home increased due to the pandemic, it's likely they've got pretty used to having you around. We've been speaking with Sean McCormack, head vet at tails.com to find out how to best prepare our pooches for the change as lockdown eases.

For the minority, your dogs may feel so anxious that they chew at furniture and doors, or start messing in the house, and in those instances punishing this behaviour is the last thing you want to be doing.
