Councillors in Thornaby have backed plans to provide two PCSOs with electric bicycles after a heated debate. Councillor Glenn Eastick denounced the idea saying it was up to the police to supply such vehicles and would unnecessarily cost the council money. Thornaby Mayor Steve Walmsley supports the idea saying it would help them cover more ground in the area.
A new state of the art skills hub has opened in County Durham to support local residents back to work. The Foundations Skills Hub opened by housing provider Karbon Homes is available to use for free for residents living in Stanley and the surrounding areas of North Durham.
