A GRAND LIGHT SHOW: Grade || listed hotel welcomes back customers after £45m renovation
As hospitality businesseswelcome back customers indoors for the first time this year, to mark the milestone The Grand Hotel Birmingham has lit up it’s iconic façade in a sea of colours from sunset until sunrise.
Peter Kienast, General Manager of The Grand Hotel Birmingham, said “This has been the most testing time the hospitality industry has ever faced. The lighting up of The Grand Hotel not only marks the return of this landmark building; it is also our way of welcoming people back to Birmingham as the city's fantastic bars, restaurants and hotels finally get back to business.”
Housed in one of Birmingham's most iconic buildings on Colmore Row, the luxury hotel is a Grade II* listed building. Retaining the building's French Renaissance exterior, Victorian and Arts & Crafts features the restoration also includes a new penthouse suite with spectacular views across St Phillip's Cathedral and the city beyond. Interior design by Robert Angell Design International reflects the passion and spirit of contemporary Birmingham, whilst paying homage to the building's stunning original features and history.
Guests will be able to stay in one of the hotel’s 185 guest rooms and suites and to meet and drink in Madeleine, the hotel’s glamorous cocktail bar; Afternoon Tea will be served in Madeleine every Wednesday to Saturday, priced £29 including a glass of Champagne, from Wednesday 26th May. Other features include a hotel gym, the stunning Grand Ballroom, and nine additional meeting & event spaces. From June, guests will also be able to book a table in the hotel's brasserie-style restaurant.
Between 18 May and early September, The Grand Hotel Birmingham will be open Tuesday to Saturday: check in is from 3pm (Tuesday to Saturday) and check out on Sunday is by 12 noon. Madeleine will be open from 3pm on Tuesday and from 12 noon Wednesday to Saturday, closing 11pm (Tuesday to Saturday).
