NATIONAL NEWS ROUNDUP: Over 45s invited for covid jab & Duke’s funeral discussions
The NHS in England has begin inviting Brits over 45 to book an appointment to receive their first covid jab.
It's been described as a "significant milestone" in the battle against coronavirus, and follows the news that the target of vaccinating all over 50s was hit ahead of schedule.
Former Prime Minister David Cameron has said he is prepared to give evidence to an independent enquiry into a lobbying scandal involving the financier Lex Greensill. Downing Street announced the independent review, with many calling for rules over lobbying to be reevaluated as a result.
And finally, as Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday nears, discussions are believed to be taking place in royal circles as to who will attend, with suggestions Prince Philip would have wanted representatives of his many causes present. Coronavirus restrictions mean only thirty people will be able to pay their respects.
