NATIONAL NEWS ROUNDUP: PM reiterates confidence in covid jab & NHS app updated for reopening
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reiterated that coronavirus vaccines are safe after medical advisors said under 30's should be offered an alternative to the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England, Jonathan Van-Tam said that the type of blood clot involved was "vanishingly rare".
The NHS covid-19 app has been updated to reflect the reopening of non-essential retail and hospitality venues from Monday. New regulations state everyone in a group must check in at a venue either via the app or by providing your details. It's hoped this will help identify local covid outbreaks faster.
