RECORD BRITISH WEATHER: Hottest March since 1968 as temperatures top 24C
The UK is hotter than Ibiza, as temperatures soar.
According to the Met Office, the mercury rose above 24c at St James’s Park in London today - making it the warmest day in March for 53 years.
The previous record for the hottest day was set in 1968 in Cambridgeshire, where temperatures topped 25.6C.
Parks and beaches up and down the UK have been packed and follows the easing of restrictions in which groups of up to six people or two household can now meet outdoors.
It comes ahead of a mini-heatwave ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend.
