SIX MONTHS: Middlesbrough Driver jailed for false plates

A Middlesbrough driver has been jailed for six months after using false license plates.

Christopher Walker, of Stanmore Avenue in Beechwood, has also been banned from driving for 21 months.

He was sent to jail for four months each for making false representation and for fraudulent use of a registration plate, however, the sentences will be served at the same time.

He was then given an extra two months for breaching a previous suspended sentence order.

Mr Walker, 55, was also found to be driving while disqualified.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Cleveland Police have listened to members of the public who have come forward with information and Christopher has now been brought to justice.

“We hope that this sentence is a deterrent to him and to anyone else who thinks that committing offences like these are acceptable.”

This is not the first time Mr Walker has been in court facing similar charges.

In 2019, he received a 10-month sentence which was suspended for two years.

He had pleaded guilty to using false registration plates on his Audi TT and driving without insurance or an MOT certificate.

He was also disqualified from driving for 15 months.

Prior to the 2019 conviction, he already had 16 convictions for 30 offences, which included fraud, driving while disqualified, and making a fraudulent statement to secure insurance.
