AGAIN: Liverpool concede late equaliser against Newcastle
Joe Willock's stoppage-time equaliser snatched a point for Newcastle United away at Liverpool, denying them a chance to climb into the top four.
Willock has scored several vital goals in recent weeks and this one gave Newcastle the equaliser against Liverpool as they continue to move away from relegation danger.
Liverpool had taken the lead and dominated the first half following their opening goal from Mohamed Salah.
Sadio Mane's ball into the box was partly cleared but Salah controlled the ball and instinctively struck a spinning half volley past Martin Dubravka.
The Reds would go on to miss a bucket full of chances as Salah et al failed to extend the lead for the home side.
Steve Bruce's side stayed within touching distance and thought they'd stole a point when Callum Wilson beat Alisson Becker after 90 minutes.
However, VAR disallowed the goal as the ball ricocheted off Alisson onto Wilson's arm before he guided the ball home.
It was harsh although lawful and Newcastle may have thought their luck had ran out.
The visitors pushed though and kept the soon-to-be-former Champions penned in.
Eventually, a long ball into the area fell to Willock and his effort nestled into the net following a deflection.
For Newcastle, it was the equaliser they deserved. For Liverpool, it was a continuation of struggles at Anfield.
Newcastle move nine points clear of danger now while Liverpool are four points off the top four.
