HIGH SPIRITS: Jubliant England fans celebrate Germany win
Fans across England kept the party going long in to the night as they celebrated a historic win over Germany at Wembley.
Gareth Southgate's side must now travel to Rome for the quarter-finals, but the significance of this victory against a well-drilled Germany team will not be lost on them as they look to reach the next round.
However, England fans tempted to travel from the UK to Italy for Saturday's quarter-final have been advised to watch from home due to current Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Italy is on the UK's amber travel list, and all UK arrivals in Italy currently have to isolate for five days.
This means that any England fan trying to travel would be expected to isolate until Sunday, meaning they would miss the game entirely.
Whilst there won't be a similar atmosphere to Wembley, watching from home shouldn't be too much of a problem for England fans.
A peak audience of 20.6 million people watched Tuesday nights game on the BBC, with an additional 6.5 million streams registered through BBC iPlayer.
The figure equated to 80.1 per cent of all viewers at that time, according to the corporation and a new live stream record of 5.6 million was set on their iPlayer service.
